Hi,

I’m Sofia, an experienced leader in software development with a passion for optimizing operations and managing globally distributed teams. With a strong background in technology and gaming, I consistently deliver measurable results that drive business growth and innovation.

Here are some highlights about my journey:

• I was born in Kyiv, Ukraine. When I was five, my older sister and I got our first PC, and Prehistorik was the first game I remember playing. From that moment, I fell in love with video games and computers.
• By middle school, I learned four languages and how to drive a car. To this day, I enjoy driving different vehicles, having road trips and exploring automotive history.
• I graduated from the high school a year ahead of schedule by learning remotely. I graduated from the university with bachelor’s degree in Applied Mathematics. My university studies were also largely remote, so that I could focus on developing my career in Tech.
• At 17, I landed my first job as a part-time teacher at a private computer training company. Before transitioning into QA, I also worked full-time as a commodities accountant and system administrator in retail. When I was 18, I learned about cashflow quadrant from “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” book. By now, I had explored all four quadrants—gaining experience as an employee, self-employed professional, business owner, and investor.
• I spent a decade in software development, helping Fortune 500 companies and Gartner Magic Quadrant leaders develop software for manufacturing, IT, advertising, pharmaceuticals, and finance. Also my career progressed from Software Testing Training Center intern in Ukraine to Director of Engineering in US.
• In 2015, my husband and I relocated to US. We lived in Washington, Illinois, and California. Of all the places we’ve traveled, Southern California remains my favorite one. Here, in my free time, I play video games and poker, relax on the beach or snowboard in the mountains with family and friends.
• In 2020, I pivoted from consulting services to game development, joining Blizzard Entertainment, where my passion for video games and software development blended together perfectly.
